Sometimes dreams really do come true if the experience of Emma and Michael Perrin is anything to go by.

The couple fell in love with a gorgeous four bedroom Glanford Corner home three years ago when they were visiting Walker Group’s Hazelbrooke development but the sums didn’t add up and they bought a flat in Barnton in Edinburgh instead.

However fate stepped in when the couple went to change their mortgage arrangements after coming to the end of a fixed rate deal and realised they could now afford the larger property.

Unexpectedly the Glanford Corner was still available after its sale had fallen through at the eleventh hour and the Perrins were able to finally move into their perfect home with their daughters Iona (11) and Olivia (2).

Emma said: “I couldn’t believe when I contacted Walker and they told me the house was available. We went to see it and I just loved everything about it – the quality of the build, the size of the rooms and the development itself. Unlike a lot of new build properties I have seen, nothing seems small, the bedrooms and everything else are a lovely size.”

With such high expectations of their new home, the property had a lot to live up to but fortunately the Perrins have not been disappointed.

“It really is a great house and we feel so at home here – so much so that my oldest daughter has decided to move from her existing primary school in Cramond to one in Kirkliston to be nearer home!” explained Emma.

A stylish family home, the Glanford Corner has a spacious lounge, a separate dining room, a large kitchen with dining area, and a utility room.

Upstairs is the master bedroom with its enviable dressing room and ensuite shower room. The property has a further three generously sized rooms, one of which will make a handy nursery for their new baby daughter, due to arrive in November.

Emma said: “The walk-in dressing room is fantastic and I have lots of plans for it. Iona loves her room as well and she has already had her first sleepover in the house.

Coming from a three bedroom flat, the Perrins also appreciate not having to share a garden. “It is great for Olivia as she can play out the back and I can sit and watch her from the kitchen. We are hoping for a few sunny days so that we can have our breakfast outside,” said Emma.

One of the big attractions of Hazelbrooke for the Perrins was the family friendly feel of the development which is the perfect commuting distance to the city for those who prefer the sanctuary of fresh country air to the hustle and bustle of the nation's capital city. Hazelbrooke is surrounded by greenery with breathtaking views of the Pentland Hills.

The development benefits from the charm of a village community and is within walking distance of the nursery and primary school. However, its close proximity to Edinburgh means that the Gyle shopping Centre is near by as well as the amenities of the capital. For outdoor enthusiasts there are a wealth of golf courses on the doorstep and Ratho Climbing Centre is less than a ten minute drive.
The show home at Hazelbrooke is open from 11am to 5.30pm and further details are available by contacting the sales office on 0131 333 5104 or by visiting the website, www.walkergroup.co.uk.
