When Sharman and Tony Heasman first visited Long meadow there was only a sales cabin and two bricks to see but they knew straight away they had found a place to call home.

Located in the picturesque village of Ormiston, the couple couldn't believe how quiet it was after being used to noise and traffice of living in Edinburgh.

They had already set their hearts on buying a Walker Group Canterbury housetype, like the one Sharman's sister Elain was buying at Hopefield in Bonnyrigg, but wanted to be in the East rather than West Lothian.

Sharman, a housing officer, said "We just loved the house and the layout, although there are only two of us we knew it would be perfect for entertaining family and friends. The sales consultant told us Walker Group were building them in Ormiston and we went along for a look and just loved the place."

"There was nothing to see but green fields but it felt special right away and we went home and put our house up for sale."

The couple, who live in a three-bedroom semi in Edinburgh, sold their house in just four weeks and moved into rental accommodation until their new home was ready.

And it didn't disappoint, the couple love the four bedroom house with its 23ft-long open-plan kitchen and family room. Featuring a bright lounge, it also has a seperate utility, welcoming reception hall and integral garage on the ground floor.

Upstairs the large master bedroom has its own ensuite and an enviable dressing room. There are a further three bedrooms and a contemporary family bathroom.

Sharman added: "The open-plan kitchen and breakfast room is really big, so is the lounge - the whole house is huge. We are so delighted with it."

And the destination has also exceeded their expectations, the couple love living in Ormiston. Located 14 miles from Edinburgh, it offers an attractive village lifestyle just three miles from Tranent and 20 minutes drive from Fort Kinnarid Retail Park. Wallyford rail station is just over five miles away offering a regular 14 minute service to Edinburgh Waverley.

Sharman said: "Ormiston is so peaceful compared to what we were used to in Edinburgh, I keep saying to Tony to stop and listen to how quiet it is here.

"It seems like the sun shines every time we drive into Ormiston, it is definitely the place for us and it is very convenient for us getting to work in Edinburgh.

"We are absolutely delighted with our new house, it's a dream home."
