When the Stevens family decided to buy a home at Hopefield Heights in Bonnyrigg, they knew exactly what to expect as it was their fourth Walker Group property!

Not only that, but they had watched the development being built from the very first sign going up.
Dave Stevens explained: “We lived nearby and used to go out for walks in the evening to our favourite local beauty spot. My wife Lorraine always said wouldn’t it be amazing to live here and see these beautiful views every day.

“We were thrilled when we heard it was going to be developed for housing. Although other developers were building there Walker Group’s homes were by far the nicest with the best outlook.
“Having bought Walker Group homes three times before we knew that you get a lot for your money in terms of size of the rooms and quality of the build. We have lived in homes by other builders and they just didn’t compare, they didn’t have as much space or fitted wardrobes in bedrooms, all the things you take for granted with Walker Group. “Our sales agent Jean Darling was amazing as well. She was so patient and helpful and I have never met anyone as obliging as the site manager who let tradesmen in early to lay the floors and couldn’t do enough for us.”

The family chose a four bedroom Windsor property in their dream location overlooking the pond. The house has a spacious lounge with a separate dining room, a large kitchen and a utility room on the ground floor.
Upstairs is the family bathroom with four generously size bedrooms and master ensuite, leaving lots of space for family members to come and stay. The couple and 18-year-old daughter Sarah love their new home, which has a really rural feel with the pond and a little stream running close by. Communications manager Dave said: “I work from home a lot and I am very lucky as my study overlooks the pond. When I take a break from work I can watch ducks and all different varieties of birds, it is a very serene environment.”

Hopefield Heights is also close to all of Bonnyrigg’s facilities and an easy commute to the capital where Lorraine works as an administrator at Edinburgh University.

David said: “Bonnyrigg has fantastic transport links with bus services every 10 minutes into Edinburgh and great road links.
“It is good for families with school age children as it has some great schools.  There are a couple of new primaries that have just been built to replace two old ones and a brand new primary on the development. “The new Lasswade High School campus is really state of the art with a swimming pool and sports and leisure facilities.”

Bonnyrigg’s town centre, with its avenue of trees, has a selection of local stores including a chemist, bank and post office. A Tesco supermarket is a short drive away and larger high street stores are available at Straiton Retail Park. The surrounding countryside is perfect for those who like walking and cycling and has fantastic country parks, historical buildings and castles.

Prices for the remaining four and five bedroom homes at Hopefield Heights start from £331,000.  Further information is available from 01506 413101.
