Picking up the keys to a new home on Friday 13th might put some people off but for seasoned buyer Scott Kitching the day held no fears.
Having already lived in more than thirty different properties, Scott is an old hand at unpacking boxes. Scott, partner Louise and daughter Dennon were delighted the move to the four bedroom Canterbury at Monarch’s Way in West Calder went without a hitch.
Commercial manager Scott said: “It was actually a great day and it all went smoothly – our house number is also 13 so it seemed like it was meant to be.
“From the start everything went so well, we sold our existing home in just a week and a half and our sales advisor Helen was just brilliant, we can’t praise her enough. She was so friendly and welcoming, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with her.”
However much he enjoyed the experience, the family love their new home so much they don’t intend to move again.
He said: “This is our forever home and it is great to put down roots. I spent much of my childhood moving around, my parents loved moving but not very far – all of our homes were in Livingston. It was a new town when they started and each time another bit was built they thought it might be nice to see what it was like living there.”
Buying a home at Monarch’s Way was not a snap decision for even a seasoned expert like Scott, the family spent two years searching for their perfect property before choosing the Walker Group development.
Louise said: “We looked at lots of new developments from other builders, but all the rooms were so wee and pokey, unlike the Canterbury which has lovely airy rooms with lots of space. It’s quite a change from our three bedroom semi in Pumpherston - it’s great to have so much more room, we especially love the spacious master bedroom.”
