Around The World In Eighty Swatches

Drawing inspiration from some of the planet’s most distant and exotic places, Walker Group’s newest showhome has been launched at One Dalhousie in Bonnyrigg and has been a big hit with visitors.

Designed by Carol Yates, the Roxburgh Corner’s eclectic interiors mix the best styles and trends from different eras in a fresh and contemporary way, taking a design journey through Marrakesh’s bazaars to the cocktail bars of the Jazz Age and the rainforests of India.

Sandy Casey, Director of Walker Group, said: “The new showhome is just magical and is filled with beautiful bespoke items, opulent fabrics, striking wallcoverings and artwork.

“You notice something new every time you go into the showhome and I am sure our buyers will love it as there is something that will appeal to every taste. We’re really pleased by the reaction from visitors.”

A five bedroom detached home the Roxburgh Corner’s lounge oozes grown up sophistication with a beautiful vintage mural of a rainforest on one wall and plush green velvet sofa with pink cushions and powder pink shell chair, along with a dark walnut Art Deco style cocktail cabinet, perfect for entertaining.

With a more laidback feel, the family room has a Moroccan feel with black and cream dhurrie rug, two seater pewter velvet sofa and co-ordinating ethnic inspired cushions.

Offering an oasis of calm at the centre of the home is the painted grey kitchen with its Farrow & Ball Setting Plaster chalky walls and wood and concrete dining table.

The master bedroom has an emerald upholstered bed set against a wall painted in Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue, a dramatic strong inky tone, softened by the crisp white bed linens.

By contrast the second bedroom has a muted powder pink and mint colour scheme complete with copper accessories and luxury bedlinens.

The children’s bedroom has a fox inspired theme with an adventurous wigwam bed, while the nursery has a white handpainted crib and features an amazing bespoke mural with origami flowers, with different heights of stalks giving a fun way to see how fast your little blossoms are growing.

A cloakroom and a double garage complete the ground floor of the property. Priced from £395,000, this stylish house type offers five bedrooms upstairs, with the master featuring both a dressing room and ensuite. The second bedroom also has its own ensuite and there is a family bathroom.

One Dalhousie in the sought-after commuter town of Bonnyrigg will feature 27 homes when complete all with their own solar panels along with high performance insulation, double-glazing and energy efficient heating systems.

Located to the north of Dalhousie Dairy, One Dalhousie offers a choice of three, four and five bedroom properties.

The homes have lots of clever touches too, including ample fitted storage in the kitchen and bedrooms and radiator valves that are positioned to make vacuuming easier. Many of the properties feature utility rooms, garages and family rooms that provide vital extra space.
