Help to Buy Weekend at Hazelbrooke

Home buyers are being invited to attend an exclusive preview of Walker Group’s newest showhome at Hazelbrooke in Kirkliston this weekend and find out more about the Government’s ‘Help to Buy’ scheme.

The five bedroom Oakleigh, designed by Carol Yates and television’s John Amabile, officially opens on Saturday, March 22 from 11am to 5.30pm.

Walker Group staff will be on hand to show visitors round the new showhome and independent mortgage broker and ‘Help to Buy’ expert Peter Bruce, will be talking about how the popular scheme works from 12-4pm.

Help to Buy provides a Government guaranteed equity loan on new build properties up to the value of £400,000.

The initiative requires home owners to contribute a minimum 5% deposit of the property price and to arrange a mortgage of up to 75% of the value with the Government providing a loan for up to 20% of the purchase price.

Sandy Casey, Sales and Marketing Director for Walker Group, said: “We thought the launch of the new showhome would be the ideal opportunity to tell buyers about Help to Buy, which is available on most of the properties at Hazelbrooke and at many of our other developments. Peter will be on hand to explain in detail how the scheme works and answer any questions buyers might have.

“We hope buyers will find it informative and will enjoy seeing the showhome, which has such a feeling of lightness and warm about it. John and Carol have done an amazing job creating a showhome with a luxurious designer feel but which still manages to feel like the kind of welcoming, family home most people would love to live in.”

Carol explained the inspiration behind the design. She said: “With Spring approaching we opted for a fresh, airy look to the showhome with lots of floral and nature inspired fabrics and wallpapers. The lounge features a combination of patterns and plains in complimentary shades of aqua and eau du nil, with a fern feature wallpaper. In the master bedroom we have used pretty blues, a big current trend, with white painted walls keeping the look simple and fresh.”

The Oakleigh is one of the largest properties on the development and features a spacious open plan kitchen and family room, which opens onto the back garden through patio doors. An expansive lounge, integral double garage, cloakroom and utility room complete the downstairs floor.

Upstairs there are five bedrooms, three with en-suites and luxury family bathroom with a separate shower enclosure. The master bedroom features its own dressing a room, a must-have for the style conscious.  Prices start from £399,000.

Located off
Queensferry Road on the edge of the village, the latest phase of the  development features a range of four and five bedroom homes with prices starting from £292,000 for the Landsborough and rising to £413,000 for the Glenbrook.

Properties now available include the Roxburgh Corner, which costs from £377,000 and boasts a spacious open plan kitchen-dining area, separate lounge and family room with French doors leading to the garden. Upstairs are five bedrooms all with built in storage and two bedrooms have en suites.

Another stylish property is the Gladstone, a detached four bedroom family home with a spacious lounge, a separate dining room and a generous kitchen with plenty of space for informal dining. Upstairs are four well-proportioned bedrooms and a main family bathroom with a separate shower enclosure. The master bedroom has its own ensuite and costs £321,000.

Hazelbrooke is perfect commuting distance to the city for those who prefer the sanctuary of fresh country air to the hustle and bustle of the nation's capital city. Hazelbrooke is surrounded greenery with breathtaking views of the Pentland Hills.

The development benefits from the charm of a village community and is within walking distance of the nursery and primary school. However, its close proximity to
Edinburgh means that the Gyle shopping Centre is nearby as well as the amenities of the capital. For outdoor enthusiasts there are a wealth of golf courses on the doorstep and Ratho Climbing Centre is less than a ten minute drive.
