The Brady and Berry families moved into identical five bedroom homes right next door to each other at Walker Group’s popular Collingwood development in Cumbernauld last year and couldn’t be happier.

Having spent the previous five years living on the same street on the other side of Broadwood Loch, living close by felt perfectly natural for the two families.

Angela, who has two children, says that despite the similarities they have managed to create totally different looks in their homes. “While my husband Danny and I bought a few things for moving in like a suite, Paula and Frank brought a lot of their furniture with them because they had just splashed out on a few pieces before they moved.”

Paula added: “We knew it would be nice to stay so close to each other and didn’t think twice when the plot next door to Angela’s became available. “Unlike Angela I use all five bedrooms including the one on the ground floor. Having four boys we needed all the room we could get.”

Having moved from three bedroomed properties both families are delighted with their spacious new homes with lounge, dining kitchen, utility, dining room, cloakroom, family bathroom, five bedrooms, en suite, garage and gardens.

The attractive setting and family-friendly layout of the development situated on the edge of the picturesque Broadwood Loch, is the ideal place for kids to cycle and explore and has proved a big bonus for the Berrys and Bradys.

Paula said: “My last house was on the corner of the street and when Andrew (4) was younger I was always terrified he would get out onto the road. Here we can let the kids out to play and we don’t have to worry about them. One of us is always able to look out for them and it is a quiet cul de sac.”
