TEARS OF JOY AT ALBURY IN ORMISTON

TEARS OF JOY AT ALBURY IN ORMISTON

After three years of saving for a deposit Lee Edmond and partner Daniel Ross were delighted to celebrate their first Christmas in their brand new Walker Group home at Long Meadow in Ormiston.

The young couple moved into their three bedroom Albury home on December 6th and Lee still has to pinch herself to check she isn’t dreaming.

Lee (25) who works in a nursery said: “We cut back on meals out and treats so that we could afford a deposit but we are so happy we did it as we love having our own space. When I was given the keys I burst into tears I was so delighted all of our hard work had paid off.

“We both lived with our parents before and it still feels like we are in a holiday home, it hasn’t really sunk in that we have finally done it.”

The pair found their dream home after a chance conversation with a couple they met at the gym. Lee explained: “We got talking and they mentioned they had bought in Ormiston and that they loved it there. They invited us to see the house and we thought it was fantastic. Not only did we find a new home but we have made great new friends as well.

“We loved the Albury and it is ideal for us as it has three bedrooms – we hope to have kids in the future but at the moment it means that we have a spare room and that Daniel can have a games room. It’s great as I can watch my television shows in peace in the living room.”

A stylish three bedroom semi-detached home, the Albury has been designed to offer space where buyers need it most, with a generous lounge with patio doors leading out to the garden, a front-facing kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, with the master featuring an ensuite, and a family bathroom.

Lee added: “I love the patio doors in the living room which will be nice to have open in the summer and it will be great if we have kids to be able to watch them playing outside.”

The Ormiston area was also a major attraction for the couple, thanks to its excellent walking and cycling routes and proximity to their parents in nearby Tranent.

Lee said: “We had looked at properties in other areas but we loved the homes at Long Meadow in Ormiston. Daniel has been on a lot of building sites and was very impressed by the quality of workmanship.

“We both drive so we weren’t worried about the journey to work in the city centre – to buy a similar property in Edinburgh would have cost us double the amount of money!”

Located 14 miles from Edinburgh Long Meadow boasts a choice of three, four and five bedroom homes.

Ormiston offers an attractive village lifestyle, just three miles from Tranent and 20 minutes’ drive from Fort Kinnaird Retail Park.  Wallyford rail station is just over five miles away offering a regular 14 minute service to Edinburgh Waverley.
