WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE
The development of Leith Waterworld was not only a flagship development for Walker Group but it was also the first development of its kind in Scotland, combining leisure and shopping.

Located in a prime location at the foot of Leith Walk in Edinburgh, the new leisure centre was built on the site of the former Leith Central Station which was demolished in 1988.

The £12m project was the only pool in Edinburgh to have flumes, slides, water cannons and artificial waves, and also featured a 35,000 sq ft supermarket, and the conversion of retained listed buildings into office accommodation.

The leisure centre opened in 1992 but unfortunately, despite a very public appeal, Edinburgh City Council closed its doors in 2012 to make way for the re-opening of the Royal Commonwealth Pool.
