Enjoy a Change of Pace at Glen Ora
New research shows British people prefer the idea of country living to city life according to the AA Financial Services.

The survey showed that people moving home are more than twice as likely to say they long for a move to the country (18%) than to relocate to the bright lights of the city (8%). And where better than North Berwick, which combines the benefits of living in one of the UK’s most desirable seaside towns, with a beautiful countryside setting in East Lothian close to some of Scotland’s top golf courses.

Walker Group has just released a stylish Kidston housetype at its popular Glen Ora development, which is perfect for home buyers keen to enjoy a relaxed pace of life, away from the noise and traffic of the Capital.

Priced at £365,000, the Kidston is a spacious home with a bright, sunny lounge to the front and a showpiece open plan kitchen and family room with dining area and a separate utility room. Double doors from the family room lead out into the garden, ideal for hosting laid-back get togethers on the lawn.

A downstairs cloakroom, store cupboard and garage complete the ground floor. Upstairs the master bedroom features an en-suite and there is a family bathroom.

The attractive home is the ultimate in classic British luxury design from the stone detail to the front of the property to the integral double oven and dishwasher and turfed front garden. Also available is the Canterbury Corner priced at £415,000.

The Canterbury has a spacious lounge, a close to 24 ft long open plan kitchen and family room. A separate utility, welcoming reception hall and integral garage complete the ground floor.

Upstairs the large master bedroom has its own ensuite and a swoon-worthy dressing room. There are a further three bedrooms and a spa-like family bathroom.

Sandy Casey, Director Walker Group said: “With the exception of the under 25’s age group more and more of us want to escape busy metropolises for a better quality of life in the country and it’s not hard to see why at Glen Ora which is surrounded by tranquil countryside with beautiful views of the Firth of Forth, the Bass Rock and Fife beyond.”

With high quality finishes and fittings as standard, each property at Glen Ora includes a stylish and practical kitchen and bathroom, along with a high-efficiency heating system and appliances to help ease carbon footprint concerns.

The development is designed to be family friendly and North Berwick’s popular primary school and highly regarded High School are a short walking distance from Glen Ora. North Berwick is one of the jewels of East Lothian, with miles of unspoilt coastline, world class golf courses and main streets filled with a selection of trendy cafes, fine seafood restaurants and interesting art and craft shops.

There is even an old-fashioned sweet shop and artisan bakery. Along with the beautiful beaches, there is a pretty harbour and the Scottish Seabird Centre where visitors can learn more about the region’s wildlife.

There is a great choice of sports available from rugby, tennis and bowls to sailing, surfing and horse riding, and of course golf with a number of courses to choose from. Close to Glen Ora is the town’s public swimming pool, while spa facilities are available at the Macdonald Marine hotel. Buyers can see the high standard of property on offer at Glen Ora by visiting the stylish Brampton showhome which is open from Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5.30pm.
