Midlothian Council’s School Crossing Patrol Guides are looking fashionably visible thanks to Walker Group, who have sponsored new winter uniforms.

Pupils from Hawthornden Primary in Bonnyrigg gave Patrol Crossing Guides, Ian and Helen Watt, the thumbs up when they modelled the new look uniforms including neon jackets and matching hats.

Walker Group provided a donation towards the cost of the new visibility uniforms which will be worn by all the patrol guides who support the 33 primary  schools throughout Midlothian.

Sandy Casey, Director, Walker Group said, “Patrol Guides are very much part of the community and play a big role in the lives of so many families in such a rewarding way.   We are delighted to have been able to lend a helping hand and hope the uniforms will keep the guides warm when they are out in all weathers.”

Gillian Bathgate, School Crossing Supervisor, Midlothian Council added, “We’d really like to thank the Walker Group for their generous support to our School Crossing Service.  Their help enables us to provide our School Crossing Guides with uniforms throughout the year and supports the safety of pupils within Midlothian walking to school”.
