Scotlands most affordable locations for buyers

A new report from the Bank of Scotland has revealed that Scotland offers the most affordable locations in the UK to buy a home with seven of the top 10 most affordable areas.

Top of the table is East Ayrshire, followed by West Dunbartonshire, North Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde.

Average mortgage payments for first time buyers and those moving home fell to 20% of disposable earnings in quarter four of 2011, compared to a UK average of 27%.
