In the Pink at Glen Ora

In the Pink at Glen Ora
A new showhome has been launched at Glen Ora in North Berwick, featuring this season’s hottest new colours rose quartz and serenity.

The pink and blue shades, which have been chosen by design authority Pantone as the colours for 2016, bring a feeling of calmness and tranquillity to the impressive Brampton which mixes iconic 1950s design with the latest in hip, contemporary interiors.

A five bedroom home, at the heart of the Brampton is the large open plan kitchen with dining area and family room, which has lots of bold retro touches such as a huge SMEG American fridge and copper pendant light shades.  On trend duck egg units are mixed with washed oak units and shaker chairs, for a delightfully home spun look.

A distressed copper tile wallpaper adds to the laid back appeal of the family room which has a pale grey squashy corner sofa, perfect for flopping down on and catching up on the latest television shows.

Designers Kabe have opted for a more formal, elegant look in the lounge, which has a gorgeous wrought iron fireplace as its centrepiece. Whispery shades of grey are complemented by copper light fittings for a modern twist on a traditional drawing room.

The perfect place for dreaming up your next creative idea, the study has an architect’s desk, wallpaper patterned with feather quills, a vintage leather armchair and artisan furniture.

The master bedroom promotes calm and relaxation with its soft green and rose quartz colourway, while the baby’s room has a whimsical butterfly wallpaper and lots of eye-catching accessories.  A two tone wall feature adds to the retro appeal of the guest bedroom, while the boy’s room features a nostalgic red, white and blue colour scheme.

Sandy Casey, Director Walker Group, said: “We wanted to create a showhome which would reflect the artisan feel of North Berwick which was recently named one of the top ten coolest seaside towns in the UK.

“Kabe have created a wonderful home, which has a really warm, lived in feel which I am sure will appeal to buyers who want all the style and originality of a traditional property but with the convenience of a warm, energy efficient modern home with a top end kitchen and bathrooms and shower rooms with the latest appliances.”

Glen Ora features a collection of three, four and five bedroom family homes when complete, with prices in the current phase from £340,000 for the four bedroom Kidston house-type.  The Brampton starts from £390,000.

Also available are stylish three bedroom Chichester bungalows with prices from £380,000.

Located on the former Mains Farm, Glen Ora is surrounded by tranquil countryside and has beautiful views of the Firth of Forth, the Bass Rock and Fife beyond.

With high quality finishes and fittings as standard, each property includes stylish and practical kitchens and bathrooms, along with high-efficiency heating systems and appliances to help ease carbon footprint concerns.

Designed to be family friendly, the development will feature bicycle paths for safer cycling when complete. North Berwick’s popular primary school and highly regarded High School are a short walking distance from Glen Ora.

North Berwick is one of the jewels of East Lothian, with miles of unspoilt coastline, world class golf courses and main streets filled with a selection of trendy cafes, fine seafood restaurants and interesting art and craft shops. There is even an old-fashioned sweet shop and a coffee roastery.

Along with the beautiful beaches, there is a pretty harbour and the Scottish Seabird Centre where visitors can learn more about the region’s wildlife. A great choice of sports is available from rugby, tennis and bowls to sailing, surfing and horse riding, and of course golf with a number of courses to choose from.

Close to Glen Ora is the town’s public swimming pool, while spa facilities are available at the Macdonald Marine hotel.
