Family Ties At The Maltings

Family Ties At The Maltings
A new phase of larger homes designed with families in mind has been launched at The Maltings in Dumbarton.

The latest release of homes at the Walker Group development includes the five bedroom Hyden and the four bedroom Seymour, two of the developer’s largest properties.

Priced at £289,000, the Hyden is a fantastic family home and features a large kitchen, utility room, a spacious lounge, separate family room and a formal dining room with a beautiful bay window.

Upstairs there is a family bathroom and five bedrooms, all with built-in wardrobes. Ideal for families with teenagers, two of the bedrooms have their own private en-suites.  An integral double garage completes this home.

Meanwhile the four bedroom Seymour has a large kitchen with dining area which is great for entertaining, sitting in the heart of this home. It also features a lounge, family room and separate dining room which has French doors to the rear garden. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two of which have en-suites, while the master bedroom benefits from a separate dressing room which could equally well be used as a nursery, home gym or study. A double garage completes the property.

Sandy Casey, Sales and Marketing Director at Walker Group, said: “These homes are ideal for larger families as they offer so much space, with separate family rooms where the kids can watch television and dining rooms for having friends round or doing homework in peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the home.

“The double garages in particular have been a big hit with visitors as they are great for storing bikes, scooters, paddling pools, prams, skis, tennis rackets and all the other things that can take up so much space.

“The Maltings is a great place to raise a family – close to the Loch Lomond and some of Scotland’s most beautiful countryside but with all the amenities of a thriving town on its doorstep.

“Along with the location one of the big attractions of the development for people questioned for a recent survey was that it is so child-friendly and with more than half of the homes we are constructing there now built, there is already a real community spirit there.”

Also available in the new phase are the four bedroom Wallace priced at £239,000 and the four bedroom Fitzroy at £247,000.

Help to Buy’ is available on these stylish homes and other selected properties at The Maltings.  This scheme provides a Government guaranteed equity loan on new build properties up to the value of £400,000.

The initiative requires home owners to contribute a minimum 5% deposit of the property price and to arrange a mortgage of up to 75% of the value with the Government providing a loan for up to 20% of the purchase price.

Walker Group is building 109 new homes in total at The Maltings which is built on the site of the former J&B Bottling Plant and is less than an hour away from Glasgow city centre and just 15 minutes from GlasgowAirport.   It will feature a selection of two, three, four and five bedroom properties, just minutes away from Dumbarton town centre when complete.

A thriving town, Dumbarton has been a stronghold throughout Scottish history both culturally and economically and was renowned for its glass and whisky production as well as shipbuilding. The town still attracts world leading brands such as Polaroid, Aggreko and the BBC and is a major tourist destination.

Its famous DumbartonCastle nestling on Dumbarton Rock has welcomed many a noble visitor and is an appropriate back-drop for the annual Royal Scottish Pipe Band Championships, one of the most prestigious pipe band events in the world.

With no shortage of leisure and outdoor pursuits, families are also well served  by local primary and secondary schools, whilst the town’s vibrant theatre and arts community ensure that there is always lots to do.
