SURVEY REVEALS SECRET OF LOMONDGATE’S SUCCESS

When it comes to choosing a new home at Lomondgate in Dumbarton, space, tranquillity and the outdoors were among the top attractions according to a new survey released this week.

The Lomondgate Household Survey 2014, commissioned by Strathleven Regeneration C.I.C and compiled by PBA Roger Tym, shows nearly 60% of those interviewed were attracted by the size and types of property available at Lomondgate.

The design quality, security and quietness of the residential development were cited as attractions by 35% of respondents while nearly a quarter (24%) of new homeowners cited the availability of garden and outdoor space.

Proximity and accessibility to Glasgow were considered by 17% of respondents, with 7% citing accessibility to Loch Lomond and TrossachsNational Park.

A total of 349 homes are being constructed on the site by Walker Group and two other developers, with more than half of the homes now complete.

Sandy Casey, Sales and Marketing Director of Walker Group, said: “We were delighted that there were so many positive responses to the survey from householders. Other things that appeal to residents of Lomondgate are the neighbours, the child-friendly atmosphere and the new environment.

“The research company said that respondents struggled to identify any features that would improve the area suggesting that there are high levels of satisfaction amongst the people living there already.”

Walker Group recently launched a new phase of three and four bedroom homes including The Blenheim at the development, which is less than an hour away from
Glasgow city centre and just 15 minutes from GlasgowAirport.

These include the Windsor and Seymour, priced from £242,000 and £313,000 respectively. The Windsor is an elegant four bedroom family home with an attractive lounge with a feature bay window and a separate dining room. The large kitchen has access to an integral garage through the utility room and the main family bathroom has a separate shower enclosure, while the master has its own en-suite.

The Seymour is a great house for entertaining with three public rooms and a kitchen with an informal dining area and utility room. The family room has French doors opening out to the garden. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two of which have en-suites and the master bedroom benefits from a separate dressing room which could equally well be used as a nursery or study. A double garage completes the property.

‘Help to Buy’ is available on these stylish homes and other selected properties at The Maltings. This scheme provides a Government guaranteed equity loan on new build properties up to the value of £400,000.

The initiative requires home owners to contribute a minimum 5% deposit of the property price and to arrange a mortgage of up to 75% of the value with the Government providing a loan for up to 20% of the purchase price.

Walker Group is building 109 new homes in total at The Maltings which is built on the site of the former J&B Bottling Plant. It will feature a selection of two, three, four and five bedroom properties, just minutes away from Dumbarton town centre.
