Walker Group scores highly with local youth team

Providing almost £2000 in sponsorship, Walker Group has enabled the young team to acquire new strips, rain tops, training kits and bags.

Sandy Casey, Marketing Director at Walker Residential, said: “Walker Group prides itself on building warm, friendly communities across Scotland. Our recent donation to the Tranent Colts echoes our unwavering commitment to investing in the future of these neighbourhoods.

“We are delighted to provide this young, talented team with new strips and training gear and wish them all the best in their forthcoming challenges.”

The 11-a-side team, which currently plays in the Development League, is looking forward to stepping up its game and joining the competitive Edinburgh League next season.

Team coach, Grant Moffat, added: “Myself and fellow coaches, Kevin Bathgate and Willie Gilhooly all live in Walker Group homes within the area so we were already familiar with the solid foundations and community focus of this company when we approached them for financial support. Like their homes, the generous package offered was beyond our expectations and we are all most grateful.

“The new strips have given the team a renewed sense of pride in their game and I know all the boys are very proud when they run on to the pitch in uniform. We are looking forward to beginning a new season with the Edinburgh League this year and would like to thank Walker Group for all their assistance.”

Walker Group is currently marketing ten new developments across Scotland including Oakhurst and The Willows in Tranent with more scheduled to be launched this year.
